2005
On February 2005 PZU, JSC (Poland) — one of the largest financial institutions in Central and Eastern Europe — became the owner of 100% of shares of SKIDE-WEST, OJSC and SKIDE-WEST-Life, OJSC. Since February 28, 2005 the Group operates under the name of PZU Ukraine.
The strength of PZU Ukraine consists in financial power, reliability, wide network of offices and agents, marketing support of business, use of PZU experience, modern technologies and European standards of services.
PZU Ukraine is a member of many professional and industrial associations: Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, Sea Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine, Nuclear Insurance Pool, and Aviation Insurance Bureau of Ukraine. All-Ukrainian sales network of the Group consists of 49 offices: 34 branches, 9 customer service centers and 6 agencies.
PZU Ukraine always confirms its leading positions in professional and independent ratings. In 2004 the Company once again was recognized as «The Most Professional Insurance Company» (Business newspaper) and the President Andriy Peretyazhko took the second place as «The Personality of Insurance Market». According to Brand Guard’s rating (Halytski Kontrakty magazine) PZU Ukraine is the most effective brand of insurance market 2004. The leadership of the Company is also confirmed by such ratings as «Insurance Top», «TOP-100. The Best top-managers of Ukraine» (Investgazeta newspaper), «Guard 500» (Halytski Kontrakty magazine). Every year PZU Ukraine is among the leaders of The National Insurance Indemnity Club. During 12 years of its activity the Company has paid out about 83 million UAH, more than 30 million of which were paid during 9 months of 2005.
2004
To date SKIDE-WEST is the leading Ukrainian universal insurance company with licenses for realization of 46 kinds of voluntary and obligatory insurance.
The Company’s sales network includes 38 branches and representative offices in all regions of Ukraine. Among the main shareholders of SKIDE-WEST are: Ukrainian Innovation Financial Company, OJSC (Ukraine), Polish Reinsurance Company, JSC (Poland), UIFK-Plus, CJSC (Ukraine), Calefort Developments Limited (Great Britain).
2003
In 2003 the Company continues to improve its service. A new insurance group SKIDE-WEST is established. It includes SKIDE-WEST (insurance), SKIDE-WEST-Life (life insurance), SOS-Service Ukraine (medical, technical, information and other kinds of assistance services), and Inter-Risk Ukraine (motor claims settlement in Ukraine and abroad). The Company becomes All-Ukrainian. The new offices are established in Zaporizhzhya, Ternopil, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava, Chernigiv, Kirovograd, and Luhansk. Now the insurance policy of SKIDE-WEST can be bought in each region of Ukraine and at each frontier automobile crossing. Moreover, a new program of establishing a range of new representative offices in Kyiv was worked out. More than 1 500 000 clients have used the Company’s services. With the increasing number of clients the amount of payments is also increasing. For all years of its activity the Company has paid out approximately 40 million UAH of insurance repayments, more than 17 million of which were paid in 2003.
On the average, 61 insurance repayments were daily paid.
The professionalism of the Company is confirmed by ratings. According to the rating of Investgazeta newspaper — Top-100 — The Best Top-Managers of Ukraine — the President of SKIDE-WEST Andriy Peretyazhko is the best top-manager among the insurance agents. Also Andriy Peretyazhko is a laureate of the Eighth National Program «The Personality of the 2003 year» as «The Manager of the Year».
2002
The Authorized Capital is 1 900 000 USD. In July 2002 Poland Reinsurance Company, JSC became a new shareholder with 25 per cent of shares plus one share. Property, act liability and transport insurance takes significant place in insurance portfolio. The programs of partnership with different Ukrainian Banks are being actively developed. One of the most perspective programs is insurance of automobiles that were sold on credit. 500 000 clients have used the Company’s services for going abroad and more than 1200 000 clients have used the Company’s services altogether. The sum of 12 884 000 UAH of insurance repayments was paid to clients, that is 1,97 times more in comparison with the previous year. According to the independent experts’ rating, which was held by newspaper Business, it is the second time the Company took the first place as «The Most Professional Insurance Company» and Andriy Peretyazhko — the President — was recognized as «The Best Insurer of 2002 year».
2001
The Company strengthens its positions and expands its activity in Central and South-East regions. A new office is established in Donetsk. On the basis of Kyiv office a new Service Centre for clients is opened. Its main tasks include communication with clients in Kyiv and its district and active promotion of mass insurance products. The number of clients exceeds 1.000.000. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 1,9 times in comparison with the previous year. 5 new insurance products were worked up and introduced this year. The Company actively cooperates with Ukrainian banks in a field of financial services. According to the independent experts’ rating, which was held by newspaper Business, the Company took the second place as «The Most Professional Insurance Company», and Andriy Peretyazhko — the President — was recognized as «The Best Insurer of 2001 year». The Company became a member of The National Insurance Indemnity Club by the results of 2001 year’s activity.
2000
The Authorized Capital is 372 500 USD. The structural changes and demands of the times led to necessity of changing the location of the Company’s head office. So a modern office building in the central part of Kyiv was purchased. Cardinal changes in strategy and sales policy were initiated. A new underwriting Institute was established. The number of employees is more than 450. The network structure was enlarged with new offices in Dnipropetrovs’k, Kharkiv and Cherkasy. 900 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 1,61 times in comparison with the previous year. According to the results of activity in 2000 year the Company has got a profit of 775 000, 00 UAH. According to the independent experts’ rating, which was held by newspaper Business, the Company took the second place as «The Most Professional Insurance Company». By the decision of general meeting the Authorized Capital has been increased to 512 500 USD.
1999
The Authorized Capital is 337 000 USD. The Company became a member of the Aviation Insurance Bureau of Ukraine. The professionals are employed; the trainings and professional development programs are being held. The number of employees is more than 300. The Company offers more than 50 insurance products. The network structure is enlarged with three new offices. 650 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 2,45 times in comparison with the previous year. According to the independent experts’ rating and results of poll, which was held by newspaper Business, the Company took the second place as «The Most Professional Insurance Company».
1998
The Authorized Capital is 268 500 USD. The Company became a member of the Sea Insurance Bureau of Ukraine and a full member of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine among 11 insurance companies. The number of employees is 250. The Company offers 41 insurance products. The new branches are opened in Odessa and Ivano-Frankivsk. 500 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 1,7 times in comparison with the previous year. The Company became an undisputed leader on the market of MTPL insurance «Green Card» in Ukraine. The first space risk appeared in portfolio.
1997
The Company is recognized by the leaders of the world reinsurance market. Business relations are established. The branch in the capital of Ukraine — Kyiv — is opened. The number of employees is 119. The Company offers 35 insurance products. The branch network continues to grow (Drohobych, Vinnytsya). 400 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 1,8 times in comparison with the previous year.
1996
The Authorized Capital is 139 000 USD. The classic insurance including property, liability and self insurance is determined as the Company’s strategic direction. The Company’s integration into European insurance market began. It became a member of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine. The office building in Lviv was purchased. The number of employees is 106. The Company offers 27 insurance products. The branch network continues to grow (Chernivtsi, Rivne, Khmelnyts’kyj, and Lutsk). 300 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 3,6 times in comparison with the previous year.
1995
The Authorized Capital is 56 000 USD. The complex insurance for going abroad is determined as the Company’s foreground direction. The Company became a member of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine. The number of employees is 55. The Company offers 21 insurance products. The branch network was enlarged with new offices in Rava-Rus’ka, Volodymyr-Volynskyj, Uzhhorod and a number of frontier representative offices. 100 000 clients have used the Company’s services. The earnings from insurance premiums have increased 8,5 times in comparison with the previous year.
1994
The Authorized Capital is 12 300 USD. The insurance of financial risks and credits is the main source of profit. For the first time in Ukraine the insurance of voucher’s owners was worked up. The number of employees is 24. The Company offers 14 insurance products. The first branches are set up in Mostyska and Luboml that activated the methodological work of introduction of insurance for going abroad.
1993
The Company was registered as Closed Joint Stock Company with the Authorized Capital equivalented to 5000 USD. The number of employees is 4. The Company offers 10 insurance products.
